3 Steals and The Mini's Holiday Attire

Giddy over this. $148.00 for only $8.00.

Whilst out on our trip over for my post appendectomy check up the Commander had to stop at a grocery store and pick up a few things (a few things turned into $103.40 worth....the man is deadly in a grocery store) and I was supposed to wait in the car since I am not supposed to be prancing about yet.  BUT....guess what I spied across the street from the grocery?  A Thrift Store!!! This one was where all the upper echelon peeps live so I knew there would be good stuff in there.  I told the Commander I would walk slowly (and yes, I jaywalked. I just wanted to keep from walking a whole block since I was not supposed to be out futzing around in the first place) and not stay in there long.  Against his orders better judgment, I went.

MAJOR SCORE....This sweater jacket above (really thick and super warm) still had the original tag on it.  It had never been worn.  It's from some foofey foofey shop called Talbots.  The price on the tag was $148.00 and I got it for $8.00.  Best part is, it's an orangey/pumpkin color. I also scored two turtlenecks (brand new also) for $2.00 each.  I am majorly loving thrift stores right now. This is going to look fabulous with this gorgeous scarf my darling friend Earleen recently sent me....

Thank you so much Earleen.  I pink puffy heart you. xoxo

The Mini's went and got their holiday grooming and are adorable.  Their little attire didn't last too long since they love dragging each other around by anything put on them but I did get a couple of photos of them before these were yanked off.....

Harlow and Olivia

Poor Vivienne....she's looking at Olivia's scarf as if to say "where is mine? What am I? Chopped liver"?

I am being good today and am staying in bed watching movies and knitting. I know. Shocking, isn't it? Three more weeks of this crap is going to drive me nuts.

Love,
LuLu~*xoxo

I'm happy to hear you are up and as feisty as ever!! But do take it easy!

Talbot's is a VERY expensive store here...do you have them around you? Good score on that sweater, it's pretty!

The pups look great! :-) I have a Santa Baby outfit for Layla for Christmas and just bought her a little sweater with a fur collar at Target. She hates getting dressed up but she is ALWAYS cold!!

Take care, my friend and Happy Holidays!

Jane

Boy oh boy. You and I are going to have a BLAST at the thrift shops over here. I was just at my fave one last night. SCORE!!!
LOVE the scarf on the pups and yours is BEAuTIFuL from Aerleen!!
Of course you better listen to the Commander and behave you little stinker. It's been so beautiful, well kind of, here in Canada. NO SNOW though. A balmy 55 yesterday, so unheard of.
Taking Bella to the vet next week. I've been procrastinating about a lump by the base of her spine ; ( Also have to take our last little degu in to be put to sleep : (
Have a great weekend LuLu girl. We've been watching Xmas movies to get into the spirit. It's not working yet, but I feel a little tingly, just a little ; )
Love you to that orange moon and back again.

It is impossible to be a good girl ALL the time! Love a score at the thrift shops - my husband keeps saying that I can afford new ones, but I love a deal. Your babies are precious!

Hi LuLu,
Amazing that not even an apendectomy can keep you down!!! LOL! I can just see you sneaking across the street to that thrift and then finding that cute sweater. I'm glad that you are on the mend so be sure and do what the doctor says. Yeah, right.

I can never pass up a thrift store! Even on my trip to CA this past August, Bella buddy Robin S. hooked me up with some prime stores and I brought home a whole suitcase (!) of goodies. My favorite finds - cashmere sweaters!!!! Enjoy your score, and glad to hear you are on the mend.

Hugs, Sue

Good for you! That sweater was a steal at that price. I know what you mean about thrift stores in fancy neighborhoods. Those are the best!

I got a kick out of your last post. I'm sure I look like a totally different person without my makeup too! :)

Hi Lulu, I had to stop in when I saw your post. I really should have gone to bed, but I am doing a little reading. I was hoping for an e-mail from my son, but maybe in the morning. Your finds were absolutely a steal, but do take care, we don't want you to be back in the hospital. I would like to see a picture of your knitting. You can do hand things just not what you like to do. Take care my friend. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Hugs from your Missouri Friend.

I hope you get to feelin' better! You know, my whole house is decorated on flea market and thrift store finds. But I almost never find clothing. I'd love to find some cool cowboy boots. After the first of the year, I wanna cross the state line (Wilson Bridge) and meet you. You up for it?

Poor LuLu! I remember that after the first few days of being on the couch recuperating, I was so over it! : ) In fact, I was supposed to be decorating model condos the following week and had to get some family to help me because I couldn't lift things. I will say, though, that I was exhausted during this time, but I got those condo models done as promised!
