Insane people.....always insane goings on at Casa de Chaos.
1st things first. I am off restriction (as of Monday) and can now resume my normal frivolity. I still have a little bit of soreness from my appendectomy but otherwise I am good to go. I celebrated that day by taking a little shopping trip with my gift cards to get some much needed clothes. I can't tell you how much I pink puffy heart after Christmas sales. All these smoking deals got me a few things that I am over the moon about. One being this amazing tiered ruffle all weather coat to take on my trip to LA next week. This price was INSANE. This coat had been $178.00. I paid $29.80 for it. How insane was that?
I got back home from my haul and signed on to my computer to do some graphics work and it promptly took a dirt nap. I realized it was in Def Con 4 mode when it hacked up a hairball, gave a noise that sounded strangely like someone that had extremely bad gas and then she died. The Commander can fix anything. He's a whiz at anything computer related so I knew this was bad when he couldn't fix it.
Guts
Both legs of this computer were in the air. Rigor mortis set in quickly. *sigh* This was my third computer to die in the last 5 years (mind you, every one I have had was brand new). Tangentially I might add that I don't sling them around, swing them from chandeliers, jump on them, eat crap over them, etc so I am not sure why I have such bad luck with them. I have been through HP, Gateway and Dell. POS, all of 'em. Whatevs.
The Commander told me yesterday to get my caboose ready because we were going on a little field trip. When we wheeled into the parking lot of Best Buy an hour later I had a grin as wide as the Rio Grande on my face.
Meeeeeeeep! I got a new computer from Best Buy. This one is a Toshiba Satellite so only time will tell if it's a POS too. I am just thankful I got a new one. My business totally depends on me having a computer so I don't know what I would do without one. Thank you teenie tiny little Baby Jesus that I am now back in the saddle. We are not sure if we will be able to recover anything from my old hard drive. That remains to be seen. Thank you so much to my darling husband that is SO incredibly supportive of my art for seeing that I have what I need to be able to work (and of course Blog!).
This Friday the 13th I have a brand new piece that will be available on SpookyTime Jingles so stay tuned! Here is a little sneaky peek...
Off to work on some Valentine goodies now that Miss Skelentine is done :) Don't forget to enter my Giveaway that ends this Friday if you have not done so yet. Click HERE to enter!
Love,
LuLu~*xoxo

21 Notes of Love and Snark :):
I hope the new one that you got from Best Busy (rofl!!) isn't a POS.
I am also glad to hear that you are back in the saddle...ride 'em cowboy...but not too hard!!!
I never leave here without a smile...you rock the world girl!
I'm trying to work more of your frivolity in my life. Big ups for the new computer! It is exciting, even if the old one had to die.
Wow Lulu, sounds like you've had on heck of a computer incident!! Glad you got yourself a new member of the family, maybe this one will BEHAVE!!
I know how it is, I've had a couple that died in a short amount of time, seems like when the manufacturers warranty is up, the day after, they decide to croak! It's a conspiracy, I tell ya! ;)
What do you DO to your computers?!?!!? Hope this one survives, LOL
xxoo

I feel your pain with computer killing. My acupuncturist says I have too much chi. In the last couple of years I have gone through five new car batteries, two computers, I mess up radio reception, magnetic strips on the back of credit cards - in general, anything electric or magnetic is not going to have a long life if it is in my realm. I am super careful, but it doesn't matter. She says abundant chi is a very good thing. She needs to tell Mr. Enchanted that...
Love,
Lisa
My last computer did not last three years, so I feel your pain. I got a Mac this time...I hope it last longer then the PC's I've owned. I think it will as long as I have those genius's at the Apple store to help me out. LOL
Hugs to you. Glad you are back in the saddle again.
YOu DIDN'T buy an APPLE LuLu???????? Are you my true friend??? Are you???? I'm telling you, there's been nothing out there that compared to it and Randy used to be a Microsoft engineer and he would never go back EVER.
Can you tell I adore APPLE stuff?? Yes I do, but I'm glad the Commander knows how important a computer is to you. He the man!!!
A skeleton with a pretty PINK tuff of hair. Nice LuLu : )
Oh and I LOVE the red coat. What wig will go with that one?? I say purple.
Going to get my hair cut and nails done tomorrow. We're expecting snow tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully Sat. will be clear to drive to Montreal for the funeral : (
Love You
Love Me

I hope you continue to recover from your appendectomy quickly and painlessly! Congrats on your new computer!!! :D
I have that same laptop! I fried the motherboard because I used it on my lap and the air couldn't circulate on the underside. Whatever.
My laptop kicked the bucket last month and Santa brought me a new one (Santa Rick! haha!). I'm glad you are up and running. Love the Valentine smelly!! xox
I am loving the red coat...you are going to look lovely in it. Great deal, too!
Hurray on the new laptop, but sigh on the old one. Lucky you have a handy man, so he surely knew it was shot. Mine would have been with the Geek Squad for weeks.
XO,
Jane
Beautiful red coat! So you :) and I don't have to even mention how lucky you are to have the Commander. Does he offer lessons to slacker non supportive husbands?
xx Jaime
p.s. so glad you're off restrictions!
I love getting a great deal like that. That's why I carry 125 pounds of coupons with me everywhere I go! Rock on to The Commander for being so supportive! We need more men like him on this planet!!
Woohoo girl, I'm thrilled your back in the saddle again!!! Ya might want to heal up first before ya ride her too hard! Heehehehee!
Congrats on the new computer sweetie. Take care of youself...appendectomy...so sorry, I didn't know.
Sounds like your Commander is a real keeper, hang on to that one tight girl.
God bless and feel better my friend. :o)
I'm glad to hear that you're feeling well enough to be out and shopping! I've missed your blog posts lately. That's cool that you got a new computer too. Slow, dying computers can be so frustrating. At least yours went out with a bang. :) I like Miss Skelentine. She's a wickedly cute little character!
Lulu, you are such a treasure! Love, love, love the pink coat! Glad you got the computer problem solved. I felt like my tongue had been cut out when my hard drive went a few years ago. How does one function??? I get such a chuckle from you, I went around smiling for a whole day whenever I thought of the doll parts hanging on the chandelier!
so glad you are free to roam!!!
love the coat!
i had a dell..loved it but not their support..when it died..got a LENOVO..made by IBM! hopefully i will have it a long time, hopefuly their support,if and when i need it..will be good. I will never buy Dell again..they are terrible when it come to support issues!
enjoy your new computer!
fabulous coat but ask me nuttin about computers. Mostly I can turn them on/off and that's about it. -grin-
Well howdy do Miss Lu Lu! I'm so happy to see your beautiful smiling face! Haven't been able to follow or post on blogs for the last 2 months. Come back and see that you've lost yourself a body part. Well good riddance to it I say! That's why we were made with spare parts...the ones we don't need, we can just get rid of...ha!
I was in your shoes on the computer front this past summer, so I feel your pain sistah! And like you...my life depends on being up and running on the computer. So happy that you scored a nice new one though....sweet! Are you sure you aren't sabotaging those things in order to get a new one every couple of years? ;o)
Well I hope you are have a splendiferous New Year so far...just 10 short months now til' Halloween!
xo,
Wendy
SO glad you are feeling better, I have been thinking about you. I always feel like I have bad luck with computers too, but then I just don't think they were meant to last like we think they should. Every time mine has died , my children and husband have said it was a "dinosaur" anyway, and its just a few years old! Oh well. The coat is absolutely gorgeous ! What a deal :)Have fun on your trip to my homeland in the warm sun !!!! (as I sit here in the snow, LOL Yuck)
Going to sign up for your giveaway now:)
